Don’t you just hate it when your head starts pounding in the middle of a busy day? Headaches are one of the most common health complaints that many people experience. It can be caused by various factors related to either physical or emotional health, such as:
- Allergies
- Eye strain and poor vision
- High blood pressure or low blood sugar
- Constipation or dehydration
- Insomnia
- Stress and tension
- Nutritional deficiencies
- Cold temperature
People who experience headaches often complain of different symptoms, but the most common ones are blurred vision and tightness around the head, particularly behind the eyes or neck. Headaches often affect a person’s performance, because he becomes confused and tends to mix up ideas.
Many people believe that the best way to cure a headache is to take medications, but this is not always the case. In fact, these medications may only do more harm than good. To relieve a headache, it is a good idea to try natural remedies, such as the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)
Tap solidly, but not too aggressively. Otherwise, you may only worsen the pain or even bruise yourself. Remove your watch and glasses before tapping. They can interfere with you mechanically and electromagnetically. If possible, you should also keep gadgets and other electronic equipment away from you during tapping. Use a clear, straightforward language when voicing your affirmation. This will allow your brain to absorb the information better. Try to do EFT in front of a mirror. Being eye to eye with yourself gives you a better connection with your subconscious. If possible, do EFT regularly. This may help you from getting headaches in the future.
Drink plenty of water. Sometimes, headaches are caused by dehydration. When your head starts throbbing, drink a glass of water. It may lessen the pain a bit. Eat an apple. If your headache keeps coming back, eat an apple – the upper rind and inner hard portion removed – on an empty stomach every morning for a week. Adding a dash of salt to the apple is also a good idea. Use henna flowers. Headaches caused by extreme heat can be cured with henna flowers. Just rub the flowers in vinegar and place it on your forehead. Try cinnamon. It works great for headaches caused by cold air exposure. Make a fine paste and apply it to your forehead and temples to get relief. Drink herbal tea made from tulsi, ginger, or peppercorns. Get enough sleep. Sleeping can bring back your energy and help relieve your emotional burden.
